Business is brisk and I seem to be busier than ever. It’s late August already! Where is the year going?
Several times a year I am asked to design wide band style rings that combine elements of both an engagement ring and a wedding ring. In some cases the design might be required to incorporate gemstones from an existing engagement ring, but in many instances it’s a completely new commission. Invariably these wide band style rings are being given to celebrate the strength and importance of a long-term relationship rather than to mark a specific event. The example shown here uses a combination of pink and white diamonds to great effect.
Working in a team with my in-house jewellers Colin and Emma we have the ability, expertise and experience to design and handcraft jewellery across a broad range of styles from traditional to contemporary, from art deco to vintage. You can see many examples of the broad range of work online by clicking here.
Or you can call me on 0419 484 287 if you’d like to learn more about our capabilities.
In addition to designing new pieces of jewellery, I particularly enjoy working with clients who have a number of pieces of jewellery that for one reason or another they no longer wear and are looking to use the gemstones to create something new.
The ring seen here is an excellent example of what we can do. My client had two rings containing a number of diamonds of different sizes and cuts and the challenge was to make sure that despite this there was balance in the new design. This was achieved by creating a “free form” asymmetrical construction The result was a beautiful, handcrafted “new for old” piece that she will treasure for many, many years to come.
When a leading fashion stylist approached me recently to provide the jewellery for an editorial feature on bridal fashion for the North Shore magazine Northside I was more than happy to supply a number of pieces for the shoot. The feature appeared in late July. You might have seen it?
