Welcome to my second online newsletter.
With the Australian dollar trading at its highest level against the US dollar for more than 20 years it's a great time to be investing in a new piece of jewellery.
This is based on the fact that diamonds, coloured gemstones and all precious metals are priced worldwide in US dollars and are therefore offering remarkable value in Australian dollar terms compared to any time over the last 20 plus years. Call me on 0419 484 287 if you'd like to find out more about this wonderful opportunity.
Jewellery always makes a truly memorable Christmas gift. My suggestions for the perfect gift would include combining aquamarine or amethyst with white diamonds for earrings, or a pink diamond with white diamonds for a pendant for her, and contemporary cufflinks or a titanium ring for him.
I already have a selection of beautifully designed ready made jewellery pieces featuring diamonds, pearls and coloured gemstones on display in my studio for you to choose from, but if you are thinking about having a new piece designed and handmade as a Christmas gift, then there is not a great deal of time left. Give me a call as soon as you can to avoid the last minute rush.
I thought that you would be interested to know that Damien Hirst's diamond skull that I featured in my last newsletter sold in London recently for $121.8m. Apparently the buyers, a UK-based consortium, are planning a worldwide tour. I'll let you know if I hear that it is coming to Sydney.
Summer and ice cream go together so news that an American jeweller has produced a gold and diamond studded replica of a cherry and vanilla ice cream cone should have you licking your lips! The piece is 16.5 centimetres tall and consists of 636 diamonds weighing 152.16 carat and white and yellow 18carat gold. It is valued at US$1m and will be sold later in the year, with all proceeds going to charity.
