Pearls are precious jewels and should be treated as such.
- Always store your pearl jewellery so that items don't scratch or scuff one another. Use a jewellery box with separate compartments, or wrap pieces in tissue paper before placing them in the box.
- Don't wear pearls whilst in the bath or shower, or when playing sport.
- Put your pearls on after applying cosmetics, hairspray or perfume.
- After wearing, wipe with a soft cloth to prevent dirt accumulating.
- Wash in cool water using mild soap. After washing lay on a moist kitchen towel to dry. When the kitchen towel is dry your pearls will be as well.
- Never clean pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner. Don't use detergents, bleaches, baking powder or ammonia-based products when cleaning pearls.
